JOE SPRENGARD, JR.
President & CEO, Co-Founder
Joe is the co-founder and CEO of Veelo Technologies. Prior to starting the company, he was an accomplished Strategy Consultant, Commercial Banker, and Legislative Analyst in the United States House of Representatives. Since co-founding the company in 2008, Joe has led the vision and strategy here at Veelo Technologies including execution from early stage research and development to successful commercialization, facility expansion, and building a high caliber team and winning culture. Joe has also built a top-tier Board of Directors and implemented capitalization strategies resulting in the successful close of Seed, Series A, and Series B investment rounds. Joe is a graduate of the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, a scholarship athlete, and a proud husband and father. He enjoys coaching his kids sports, skiing, and traveling with friends and family.
JAE HAK KIM, PhD
Senior Scientist, chemistry
Jae Kim is a passionate scientist and innovator who came to United States as part of a joint IBM/Samsung project. While in the United States, Jae became interested in carbon nanomaterials and began his post-doctorate research at the University of Texas-Dallas. Upon completion of his research, Jae joined Veelo Technologies. Today he oversees the company's chemical processing and development efforts, including VeeloVEIL™ and VeeloSHIELD™. Jae earned his PhD, Chemistry from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science & Technology (KAIST). He is married and has two children. Jae is an active member in his church.
LARRY CHRISTY
Director, Research and Development
Larry Christy is a talented product developer and electrical engineer who first became involved with Veelo's materials while completing his undergraduate work at the Air Force Research Laboratory. Upon graduating with a Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Larry joined Veelo Technologies and quickly took on product development leadership responsibilities, inventing the VeeloHEAT™ and VeeloVEIL™ product lines. Larry is passionate about meeting customer needs, resilient at overcoming product development challenges, and operates with creativity and a sense of urgency. Larry and his wife are proud parents of two boys. In his spare time, Larry is a craft beer connoisseur and brewer, and enjoys spending time with friends and family.
Our technology team
Our technology team is comprised of chemical engineers, mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, and chemists. Additionally, the team includes experienced quality management, operations, facilities and business development personnel.
